Level 10 ERP is a completely new Enterprise Resource Planning system that has been developed using knowledge gathered from 25 years of working directly with configure to order manufactures. Level 10 ERP started out as a set of add on modules in the early 1990’s that allowed manufactures to use off the shelf manufacturing and accounting systems and was marketed specifically to the Marine industry. This product at the time was called Marine Suite.
Over time these add on modules grew and eventually we replaced the manufacturing and accounting system and we created a full ERP package called Marine ERP. The problem was, by creating our own accounting modules we had taken the focus off of what we really wanted to do and that was to create the best tools for managing companies that had special discrete manufacturing requirements.
So we started from scratch, looking at the past and saying; “If we were to create a new system today for this type of company, what would we create?“.
First, accounting isn’t manufacturing or industry specific. With plenty of accounting systems to select from, we did our research and selected what we felt was the best accounting system for the industry for our manufacturing system to interface with. We also set out to develop or new manufacturing system with the following requirements:
- Ability to deploy on the cloud or on premise.
- Use Microsoft SQL server as our database platform.
- Allow mobile devices to be used in Manufacturing and for all Warehouse operations.
- Create a new Dealer Interface that would allow dealers to submit warranty claims, parts orders and register products from an Android or Apple mobile device.
- Create new modules in our system that simplified the entire setup and structure of our manufacturing system for easy implementation and maintenance.
- Our new system should support all industries that require a product configurator, warranty system and dealer interface allowing any manufacturer that produces Boats, Yachts, RV’s, Travel Trailers, Mobile Homes or any other complex CTO product that is sold through dealers to use our new system.
Why the new system and the new name?
Before NLS Software, Inc we were Manufacturing Concepts, Inc and our primary focus was consulting and working closely with manufacturers to develop the necessary tools they needed. The industry has changed, customers are more computer and systems knowledgeable and if we can supply the right tools our customers will be successful with less consulting required. This saves money and time so we are focusing today on providing streamlined applications and documentation to support new customers. This new direction and new software required a new business name and Next Level Systems seemed an appropriate name.
Why Level 10?
The product name originates from the military’s Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL). Level 10 is the highest level of manufacturing readiness and we felt it was an appropriate name.
